Roger Alton Crotty

Roger Alton Crotty, resident of the Baptist Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Scotia, NY, passed away on the night of February 12, 2010. He spent the last 20 years living in the Capital District. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, reading, and playing cards. He was born on June 1, 1940, in Middletown, NY, to Alton and Roberta Wood Crotty. He was raised in Poughkeepsie, NY, and graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1958. He was and Eagle Scout and attended Dutchess Community College. Roger enjoyed a 40 year career with the S. S. Kresge Company/K-Mart Corporation beginning in 1961. He opened and managed numerous stores in the Northeast Region. Roger was married to Judith Wilkinson Crotty from 1962 to 2002. They had two children: Cynthia Lynne, born in 1966 and Brian Roger, born in 1972. Roger is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Crotty Weaver and Ed Weaver Jr., and his twin grandchildren, Madison and Cameron Weaver, of Charlton, NY; his son and daughter-in-law, Brian Roger Crotty and Gretchen Darrow-Crotty, of Syracuse, NY; his brother and sister-in-law, Rodney Alton Crotty and Joann Lovelace Crotty, of Delmar, NY, and Venice, FL; and his former wife, Judith Wilkinson Crotty, of Saratoga Springs, NY. Roger's family would like to thank the many wonderful people of Baptist Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Hospice for providing him with such great care, support, and friendship.
